Gecko Trek Adventure

Back in 1986, over a few drinks four young Australian men made plans for the adventure of a lifetime. They put their savings together, bought an old 4WD and equipped themselves to explore Australia.

The four months they spent travelling was an experience beyond their imagination. Over each horizon was the opportunity for a new adventure, the remote, beautiful and often rugged landscapes were vast, there were crazy outback characters to meet and the Aboriginal culture gave them true respect for this land they were travelling. Sleeping by a campfire, admiring the starlit sky night after night became a way of life.

It was incredible; they were totally absorbed by the outback wilderness.The memories of this experience have never left me; this truly was the adventure of a lifetime and the outback became a passion.

Now we have the fantastic opportunity to show you the magic of the outback in a way that we experienced it ourselves. Gecko Trek takes small groups to the outback, travelling in a 4WD and camping under the stars in out of the way places just as we did way back then.
